Blue Skies in the Community supports music projects in the community!

Do you have a project that will bring music to the community? We may be able to help with funding. ‘Blue Skies in the Community’ (BSIC) is an outreach program of the Blue Skies Music Festival.

Every year we have a budget to distribute to community organizations and musicians in the broad catchment area surrounding the site of Blue Skies Music Festival. 

BSIC will support up to 50% of the costs of a project!

Stream 1 – Community Event & Performance Support

  • Supports live music events that bring communities together
  • Concerts, halls, markets, porches, and series
  • For venues, presenters, and community organizers
  • Eligible costs: artist fees, sound, venue, equipment

Stream 2 – Performer / Touring Support

APPLY NOW

  • Supports musicians presenting live work
  • Performances, local touring, outreach shows
  • Focus on artist fees and travel barriers
  • For individual musicians and small ensembles

Stream 3 – Music Creation Support

  • Supports creation and recording
  • For early-stage or community-rooted projects
  • Eligible costs: creation, development, recording

All Streams MUST have the following to be eligible for a grant

  • Serves the Blue Skies catchment area (map on homepage)
  • Brings music to the community
  • Fair pay to support local musicians
  • Need some support

Important – It takes time for the committee to review applications.
