Bright Strings Community Fiddle Orchestra

Bright Strings Community Fiddle Orchestra

“After more than twenty years of amazing support from the charitable arm of the Blue Skies Music Festival we’re leaving the nest and flying on our own.

The Fiddle Orchestra has grown far beyond the dreams of our beloved founder, Carolyn Stewart and the range of programs and performances has just gotten beyond the scope of the volunteer committee that administers the community grants for Blue Skies. The Fiddle orchestra has grown to be the largest low cost, all ages musical education and recreation program in our rural area, receiving a Lanark County Award for outstanding contributions to the local arts scene and being adopted as an affiliated recreation program of the municipality of Tay Valley. The phenomenal local support has allowed us to provide musical education and enjoyment to thousands and fostered musical recreation and careers while preserving and enhancing the local fiddle music culture.

With the support of The Blue Skies community we have now incorporated as a non profit under the name of “The Lanark Frontenac Heritage Fiddle Music Association” as an umbrella to continue to grow our programs. Under that legal umbrella, we will carry on with our Fiddle Orchestra classes and performances with the name changing from The Blue Skies Community Fiddle Orchestra to The Bright Strings Community Fiddle Orchestra.

We hope you are as excited as we are with this “Graduation” event and will continue with us on our musical journeys. For more information contact Cindy McCall 613-278-2448
